ABC podcast numbers growing exponentially
Monday, July 3rd, 2006The ABC has been promising an update on its podcast numbers for a little while now. In its last release on the subject (in March), Radio National was enjoying a record 175,000 downloads/week. Now, according to figures given to the Sydney Morning Herald for an interview with Phillip Adams, his show, Late Night Live alone is downloaded 100,000 times/week.
As the article points out by comparison, BBC Radio 1's morning host, Chris Moyles, is downloaded 40,000 times/week; further evidence of podcasting's appeal to an age demographic not usually associated with headphone wires and portable players.
